"Modified Signature" error with Helm 7.1+ and Grafana 8+ on Ubuntu

Description

Tested with:

  • Helm 7.1.0 and 7.1.2

  • Grafana 8.0.5 and 8.1.+

  • Server: Ubuntu 20

Issue:

  • Grafana shows the plugin has a "modified signature" and will not allow Helm to load

  • Previously when this error had been reported, there was an extra "packages"  directory in the plugin folder, however that was not present in this instance

  • With Grafana 7.5, the Modified Signature warning comes up, but does not prevent Helm from loading.

Linked issue cannot finish until this issue finishes.
