The device support for devices and models from several manufacturers are maintained in the OpenNMS project which implies all changes and extensions are tight to the OpenNMS main release cycle. Bug fixes and enhancements are also maintained in the project. To allow faster iteration about the support for monitoring configuration for specific device types from a manufacturer like data collection, graphs for key performance indicator and logging events, the monitoring configuration should be modularized in dedicated version controlled modules. These modules should be installable in OpenNMS and easily installed and uninstalled.
