A "Service" in OpenNMS is a name for a monitor to test a network application or device. A Service can be added via the Provisioning system or the ReST API. Once a service is created it is not possible to delete the service from the system. As a user, it should be possible to delete a service through the Web UI and the ReST API. Deleting a service should also delete associated data like:
events
alarms
notifications
response time graphs
