We use an additional pc & monitor to present the GeoMap in our office. eg. Screenshot.
The GeoMap is a really great map. It it useful to give a fast overview of your locations, to impress your bosses (Wow! What is this?? ) and to promote OpenNMS.
But there are some annoying behaviors. I think, the actual state isn't optimal and should be reviewed.

Some thoughts:

• GeoMap system has always to be online (because

• no function to start the GeoMap automatically/solo

• OpenNMS login required

• no function to set a filter per default (eg. "category:GeoMap")

• push down the alarm window (which isn't useful in this szenario, because the font is too small; and we only need the green/red buttons..)

• the choice to show outages or alarms on the map

• The GeoMap triggers a resolution of nodes with geolocation information but no longitude/latitude on a regular basis for each user and overwrites the asset fields.

Sure, there are some "solutions":

• autologin this pc

• autostart the browser

• set browser startpage to Geomap

• maybe use a browser addon to autologin the OpenNMS user
