Ring buffer entries exceed capacity

Description

In a number of cases it's been noted that the number of ring buffer entries exceeds the capacity, which should not be possible.

This is possibly caused by a graphing error and needs further investigation.

The "capacity" line in this graph is correct, but the number of entries was tracking the number of samples, and not the number of slots that were taken in the ring buffer (each slot contains a list of samples).
