The workaround for older versions: use short names for destination paths.
That being said and considering that the implementation at that time was based on Castor and now we use JAXB, it is very likely that the problem cannot be reproduced on recent versions; BTW, that’s actually the case, tested on a VM running latest Meridian 2017, as I was able to create 2 destination paths with similar names (as described above), and nothing has been overridden.

It's possible that the field is being truncated which could lead to two destination paths with the same (shorter) name.

I made a destination path entitled "Admin_AND_End_Users_10m" and it overwrote "Admin_AND_End_Users".
