A user on the opennms-discuss mailing list had problems accessing the OpenNMS admin portion of his install. The problem was that the user had not installed the opennms-webapp-jetty rpm package along with opennms-core.
Further he had noted that he had used the install guide located at http://www.opennms.org/documentation/installguide.html to install. The wiki page http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Installation_of_OpenNMS_How-To refers to a http://www.opennms.org/documentation/installStable.html document that looks pretty much identical, but the wiki page also mentions that the installStable.html page is out of date.
http://www.opennms.org/documentation/installguide.html and http://www.opennms.org/documentation/installStable.html should be updated for the most recent version of OpenNMS, or update them so they they will be ready for 1.12. Otherwise, I think they should have a banner in them to mention they are out of date, and let the user know they should go to http://www.opennms.org/wiki/Installation_of_OpenNMS_How-To for the latest documentation on installing OpenNMS.
The online documentation should make it more explicit that the opennms package needs to be installed to have a fully functioning install.
