Linkd reports incorrect topology

Description

In our office environment, our main switch is a Cisco Catalyst 2948, which has 48 ports (mrkitty, nodeid 7). We also have a number of Netgear GS108T switches, because they are cheap and manageable.

OpenNMS 1.11.90 reports that almost all of our devices are connected to one of those Netgear switches, (mrslave, nodeid 4). I've deleted the datalinkinterface table several times and discovery always shows that mrslave is the main switch instead of mrkitty.

I will attached the datalinkinterface table information as well as complete walks from mrkitty and mrslave.

Fresh linkd log.

Tarus Balog May 13, 2013 at 7:38 AM

I disabled SNMP on mrslave, deleted the datalinkinterface table, and now all of the links are showing up on mrtwig, another GS108T Netgear switch. The original switch, mrslave, has no links, as does mrkitty, which should have all of the links.

I've attached the log file.

Otherwise....send me the passowrd to access the opennms instance into tog and I'll work on it!

The configuration file is the default one?
Here is my suggestion:
Set the number of threads to 1,
Set the link to DEBUG
delete link.log

restart opennms.

Wait 2 hours (if the configuration is the default one). Then send to me all the link.log files
