Unable to add custom poller with capsd disabled.

Description

I am unable to define new poller with capsd disabled. I defined a new poller and restarted OpenNMS as I would normally do but since have disabled capsd and am only using provisiond at this point. I restarted OpenNMS and the poller does not appear as a option to select from the GUI. I then re-enabled capsd and restarted and the poller is now available.

Environment

OpenNMS Version: 1.8.13 Java Version: 1.5.0_18 Sun Microsystems Inc. Java Virtual Machine: 1.5.0_18-b02 Sun Microsystems Inc. Operating System: Linux 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5 amd64 Servlet Container: jetty/6.1.24 (Servlet Spec 2.5) User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_7_1) AppleWebKit/535.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/13.0.782.220 Safari/535.1

We revisited all of the detector configuration behavior after Capsd was removed so this should no longer be an issue. Marking as fixed in 16.0.0.

This is not a duplicate.

After you add the poller in the poller-configuration.xml and capsd-configuration.xml files the service does not appear available in the "Service" drop down list. The page that I see this on is editProvisioningGroup.htm in the Provisioning Groups. After I enable the capsd service in the service-configuration.xml file then restart the poller appears. Also from the home page in the "Providing serivce" drop down the service does not appear as well.

What do you mean by "the poller does not appear as a option to select from the GUI"? Are you talking about the provisioning group editor? Can you paste the URL of the page where you are not seeing the poller?
