Unable to select interface for data collection after provisiond sync.

Description

I have my data collection set to "select" and this has been working perfectly as I would just add interfaces that I need to monitor via the "Configure SNMP Data Collection per Interface". Recently I went to add a new node to one of the provisioning groups that I use and now I am no longer able to get data to collect via port-channels or even L3 links. I select the interface to "Collect" but after a few seconds it just returns to "Don't Collect". Also shortly after a sync I notice that all the interfaces that I was previously collecting on all have a "*" after them with no SNMP description info. After that I do a manual scan of the node and the description comes back but still not able to collect data. If I fight with it enough it may or may not start to collect data until I do another sync. I even deleted the node and re-added the node but still getting the same results. I though this maybe bug http://issues.opennms.org/browse/NMS-3997 but I upgraded from 1.8.10-2 to 1.8.11-1 and see no change. The weird thing is that a few of the interfaces are Secondary L3 interfaces defined in my provisioning group. Could this be related to bug 3997 or is this something new.

Thanks,
-Eric
