SNAPSHOT installer scripts are faulty

Description

SNAPSHOT installer is not working well.

1. postgres username and password not saved during install, "opennms/opennms"is used at all time.
2. logfile locations are garbled across the system if you change the opennms directory from /usr/local/OpenNMS to /opt/OpenNMS. Some logs are saved to /opt/OpenNMS/logs, some to /opt/opennms/logs and on OpenSuse some to /var/log/opennms/log

Assuming you were using the standalone installer, rather than the RPMs, given your comments about username/password, but it's difficult to tell from your comments.

I can't reproduce this with the modern installer, the username and password are properly translated in opennms-datasources.xml, I have changed it to allow specifying the opennms runtime user and password though.

How are you installing on OpenSuSE? From source? The RPM packages don't do any of this that I'm aware of.
