When raising an advanced outage has not been possible, or is never going to be
suitable due to the way the systems are running, it would be very useful to be
able to tell OpenNMS to totally ignore a node until a certain time in the
future. E.g. a device has gone down and will not be available for 2 months.
This is initially noticed by OpenNMS and is marked as down and we are notified.
This will stay down though, even if we stop polling it. I would like to be able
to say that, yes, we know this sites down, now stop it being listed as down,
and just ignore it totally until i manunally revert it or a certain time
passes. I know i can stop polling devices, but these devices may well be
forgotten about depending on their role. Alternatively, it may be down for so
long it is removed from OpenNMS and then need to be rediscovered (IF discovery
is even running). I'd just like to see the device status as disabled, on hold,
ignored or something like that as opposed to up or down.
