I was attempting to use some service level metadata to specify a custom URL in an xml-datacollection group, and found that metadata is not yet supported in this feature.  I don't know if other config files do not yet support, and I couldn't quickly find any other issues requesting support for metadata within xml/wsman/jmx/jdbc/prometheus/etc collection config files.
